Tour Description

This is the tour I recommend when someone tells me “I want adrenaline, but also something pretty for photos”. You get in your own buggy, grab the wheel and we take you along dirt roads, plantations and trails to places a regular car could never reach.

A line of buggies or ATVs with tourists driving along a dirt road surrounded by tropical vegetation, kicking up dust.

Helmet on and let’s roll

We pick you up at your hotel (Cap Cana, Cabeza de Toro, Bávaro or Uvero Alto), give you your safety helmet and a quick explanation of how to drive before we set off. No previous experience needed, the guide sets the pace the whole time.

First stop: Macao Beach

We start with a dip at Macao Beach, one of the prettiest and least developed beaches in the area, with golden sand and real waves. Take the chance to cool off before getting back into the dust of the trail.

Cacao and coffee tasting at a typical Dominican house, cacao beans and roasted coffee on a wooden table.

Typical house: cacao, coffee and hand-rolled cigars

Next we stop at a typical Dominican house, where you’ll taste cacao, coffee and vanilla produced right there, and watch artisans rolling cigars by hand. It’s a perfect break to see how country people live, far from any hotel zone.

Inside the Taíno Cave Cenote (Blue Cave): crystal-clear deep-blue fresh water, limestone formations, people swimming.

Taíno Cave Cenote: the underground finale

The last stop is the most special: the Taíno Cave Cenote, also known as the Blue Cave. It’s an underground river of crystal-clear fresh water surrounded by limestone formations, and you can only get there by buggy or 4×4. You jump into the water and that’s it, you understand why this stop is almost everyone’s favorite.

Rain or dry spell, the adventure doesn’t stop

If you come in the rainy season, get ready for mud and the occasional fun slip-up; in the dry season there will be plenty of dust and speed. Either way, this is not a quiet ride, it’s a real adventure.

If you like arriving at your hotel with dirty clothes and a huge smile, this is your tour. Message me on WhatsApp at +1 (829) 395-7036 and I’ll reserve your buggy with Punta Cana in Travel.

It depends on the vehicle assigned that day; for some models a valid license is required. If you go as a passenger, you don't need any of that.

Is it suitable for pregnant women? expand_more

We don't recommend it because of the bumpy terrain. If you have a back condition or similar, check with your doctor before booking.
